Former Comm. Secy Ramongo Lotha no more

Wokha, 13 July (EMN):
Ramongo Lotha (IAS) ( retired Commissioner & Secretary) hailing from Pangti Village, Wokha passed away at around 11 am on July 13 NHAK Kohima reportedly after a massive stroke.

He is survived by his wife and four children.

Born on July 14 1947 at Pangt under Wokha district, Late Ramongo Lotha did his matriculation from “Mokokchung Govt. High School” and graduated from St. Edmund’s College Shillong and completed his LLB from Guwahati.

He first joined in government service as a ‘CO’ in the year 1981, and was IAS officer in the year, Jan 2001.He also contested in the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election from 39 Sanis Assembly Constituencies as JD (U) Candidate.

Funeral service will be held at  Signal Angami Block- II, H.No. 21 near Living Stone Foundation Hr. Sec. School Dimapur on 14 July at 7 am.

Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio

The Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio today expressed heartfelt sadness over the sudden demise of  Ramongo Lotha, IAS (retd.) on Fri July 13.

In a condolence message, Rio said Lotha had an illustrious career starting from active involvement in student bodies since 1975. He joined government service as an NCS officer in 1981 in the rank of circle officer and served the government and the people in various administrative circles and departments. He was inducted into the Indian Administrative Service w.e.f. 2001 and retired as commissioner-secretary on July 31 2017. He also contested the recently concluded general assembly elections 2018 from 39th Sanis assembly constituency.

Recalling his meetings with Lotha, Rio said he found him be a highly capable and dedicated officer who discharged his duties to the best of his ability.

In his demise, the chief minister said ‘we have lost a good soul whose contributions to the society as an officer will be remembered even in the days to come.’

Rio along with his wife and family expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty God bestow His strength upon them to bear the loss. Rio further prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

 

Dy. CM Y Patton

The Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton, has mourned the untimely demise of Ramongo Jami, retired IAS officer, who passed away on July 13 in Kohima.

Stating that he had a long time tested association, Patton has described him as a simple, humble, kind-hearted and a cheerful human being, who always had the courage to stand up and speak the truth. Besides being a sincere and hardworking senior government officer, Patton stated that Ramongo was a faithful person.

He lamented that in his death, Nagas have lost a gem of a person adding the void created by his demise would be impossible to fill. He has expressed regret for his inability to attend the funeral programme as he was away for some official works in New Delhi.

Patton has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed that the almighty God would grant strength and comfort them in their hour of grief. He has further prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
