LET us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:2
Every sermon preached in the Spirit will serve its purpose and it is our desire to see the best of all of God’s people. The uncountable sermons we hear and had heard will surely and definitely revive us if we allow it to. So many sinners repented, confessed and went back to their old ways but the good news I preach is that the good relationship with Christ can still be restored if we renounce our sins and return to God. Truth is if our backslidden ways are to be taken into account we will never be able to stand before God but since Christ is the holy mediator between us and God we can be united with God with Christ in us. These truths are written to restore the backslidden, to revive the saints and most importantly to proclaim God’s unending love for us. It hurts so much when we are unfaithful to God and it will be more disastrous if we are to falter in the hours when we can still be rescued. The notion is this: If we give up we give up and if we don’t then we don’t. And we are not lost till we are lost. So in order to make our calling and election sure we must hold on to the truth till the end. The point I want to emphasize here is that we backslidded but God has still not given up on us because of His great mercy.
This is a truth to be grasped and blessed will be those who accepts it and renews their relationship with Christ. The Word of God clearly states “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past (Isaiah 43:18).” There is a guilt which leads to death and a guilt which leads to life. Mark this: The devil will try to bring our sins to remembrance to accuse us again but when the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins we will be stirred towards repentance which leads to life. It is always better to pursue the best and receive the best and receive the best than to stick to sin and be destroyed with sinners. The Scripture is crystal clear about the condemnation of the wicked but it also presents a clear picture of a holy future for the sons and daughters of God who will inherit eternal life ( John 3 :16 ) ( Romans 6:23) ( Revelation 20:6 ) ( Revelation 21:8 ). The warnings and the promises are all from God and it is for us to walk in the way of life when we can and while we can. God has this promise for us and it is for eternal reasons that we are called to love and to be saved. The Holy Word clearly states that if we do not have the Spirit of Christ we do not belong to Christ but it also states that there is no condemnation for the ones who are in Christ Jesus our Lord. ( Romans 8:1,9 )
The promises within the Word are revealed to strengthen our stance in Christ. It is for us to accept and believe this and it will be by the power of the truth that we will be convicted and empowered in the ways of it. For the lovers of God who lives under the protection of Christ, the powers of Hades will have no power over them. This is a truth to be grasped and a message to be accepted and it is by how we receive and accept it which will determine how much we gain from it. In humility I write in the authority of Christ that God is our only security and it is only through Christ that we can be secured till the end. Just as we read this in faith our obedience to it will result in more investments in the present and future. Let us think of eternity and fixed our eyes on Christ who is the only way to the Father. I plead with you to look at the cross of Christ; it is for us just as salvation is for us. This is our message to you and the Church of Christ desires to see the best of all her members in Christ. The prayers are on and will continue till the lost are found and the unsaved are saved. This is a sacred message from the Church of Christ. God loves sinners.
