Five passenger trains introduced for Rangiya Railway Division

Maligaon, April 13 (EMN): The numbers of passenger originating from Rangiya Railway Division has increased by 5.66% to 157.06 lakhs and Passenger earnings have shown an increase of 11.86% in comparison to last year maintained a press note from Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), N.F Railway, Maligaon.
The earnings from Goods section have shown an increase by 8.50% and coaching earnings have also increased by 56.90% with earnings from ticket checking increased by 28.05%. So far Rangiya Division of Northeast Frontier Railway performance has been commendable during the last financial year which ended on March 31, it stated. Five pairs of new passenger trains were introduced during this period, it further mentioned.
To provide better amenities to passenger four Passenger Reservation System (PRS) cum Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) centres were commissioned at Tatibahar, Changsari, Azara and Dudhnoi station. Four numbers of foot over-bridges were also commissioned at Khandikar, Goreswar, Khoirabari and Sripani stations in Rangiya – Rangapara North – Murkongselek section.
Supply of clean drinking water to passenger, iron removal plant was provided at four stations namely Lilabari, Archipathar, Simen Chapari & Telam stations in Rangiya – Rangapara North -Murkongselek section. Mechanised cleaning of station is being done at Rangiya, Barpeta Road, Bongaigaon (‘A’ category stations) and New Bongaigaon (‘B’ category station) and Naharlagun (‘E’ category station) informed the press release.
The CPRO N.F Railway Maligaon in a press note mentioned that to ensure safe running of trains, 14 level crossing gates (five manned & nine unmanned) were closed in New Bongaigaon-Goalpara Town – Kamakhya section of Rangiya division. 33 numbers unmanned level crossing gates were also manned during this period in the division.
