Financial literacy prog held at Henbenji village

Dimapur, July 28: Nagaland State Co-operative Bank Ltd. Tseminyu Branch organized a financial literacy programme on July 27 at Henbenji village.
The programme is supported by FIF and managed by NABARD. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Kegwanye Tep Asst. BM, while Soyhunlo Thug Pastor HBC and Nthyuga Tep Ex- VCC invoked Gods’ blessing and delivered welcome address respectively.
S.Kevi Hibo Asst. BM & I/C Nodal centre Kohima in his key note address highlighted the significant role played by NStCB Ltd especially for the rural poor farmers. Hibo requested the rural farmers and the participants to approach the bank and avail credit facilities available in the bank with viable projects instead of approaching the informal money lenders.
The concept and the important of launching of financial literacy programme by the GOI is to include the financially excluded and reach the un reach in order to boost their living economy and uplift the BPL clusters by way of conducting financial literacy camps in the rural areas who are deprived of banking knowledge. Resource person from NABARD Shri Bendang Aier AGM elaborated on the important of social security schemes such as PMJJBY, PMSBY, and PMFSY, APY and stand up India and opening of various types of accounts, small savings methods, curtailing of expenditures. Branch Manager Tseminyu Shri Puhovil Tsukru briefed the house on judicious utilization of loans and prompt recovery of loan in the specific time frame. The manager also appealed the villagers and the public of Tseminyu in general to render their best services to the NStCB Ltd Tseminyu branch so that the branch can also serve the public better as the branch is there for the welfare of the area people.
In the interactive session, Bendang Aeir discussed about the formation of SHG, JLG and farmers club and seeding of Aadhaar Number in the accounts the benefits entitled can be directly transfer to accounts. Aeir also highlighted on the dairy entrepreneurs’ development schemes which is a credit linkage subsidy scheme and challenged the participants to honestly venture the project.
Arhunlo Tep, Development Secretary CRBC also participated in the interactive session. The programme was adjourned with vote of thanks and benediction by the Church Board Chairman Keyhon Cheng and Tsonthong Semy Head GB.
