Father’s day football trophy at Christ King Church, Kohima

Dimapur, June 19 (EMN): On the occasion of “Father’s Day” the Catholic Thepfuko Krotho, Christ the King Church, Kohima Village organised the Parish Priest Rolling Football Trophy under the theme “Goal for Christ” as a Father’s Day Special trophy covering all the fathers, youth members and Juniors’ Associations of Christ the King Church.

The programme was preceded by the solemn celebration of the Holy Mass while the invocation prayer was led by the Catechist, Ruokuovituo Robert and the trophy competition was declared open by Neichalhoulie Nicholas, the first president, Catholic Thepfuko Krotho.
In the first group match, Fathers’ group ‘A Team’ led by union president Keneingu Albert locked horns with Fathers’ group ‘B Team’ led by Fr. Peter Salew, Parish Priest. The second group match was played between Catholic Youth Association (CYA) and Catholic Junior Association (CJA).
While CYA emerged as the Champions of the Rolling Trophy, the Fathers’ group ‘B Team’ was declared as the runners up. In the penalty shootout category CYA was the winner.
In the individual category Fr. Peter Salew was adjudged the best player of Father’s Day Parish Priest Trophy and Medoneituo, CYA was declared as the highest scorer of the rolling trophy. The best midfielder went to Dziesedilhou, and the best goal keeper was awarded to Vikuo.
