Fake PUMA: Three arrested in Dimapur

Dimapur, Jan. 13 (EMN): Dimapur police authorities aided by a representative of the giant global fashion and lifestyle company Puma on Jan. 12 arrested three men for selling fake Puma goods at the New Market in Dimapur.Dimapur, Jan. 13 (EMN): Dimapur police authorities aided by a representative of the giant global fashion and lifestyle company Puma on Jan. 12 arrested three men for selling fake Puma goods at the New Market in Dimapur.According to a press statement from the Dimapur police on Sat., a raid was conducted ‘in a few suspected garment/footwear shops at New Market and NL Road area’ identified prior as to be selling fake Puma products. 

“Accordingly the shops and the proprietor were spotted in advance, later search and seizure were made in the following shops and the seized items are shown below:

• Babu Garment Shop, NL Road, Dimapur; (1) Track Pant Puma- 37 Pecs.  (2) T Shirt – 1 Pecs. (3) Track Suit – 6 Pecs.

• Deepak Store, NL Road, Dimapur; (1) Ladies wear Puma – 118 Pecs. (2) Track Pant Puma- 33 Pecs. (3) Track Suit Puma- 18 Pecs.“Further, the following persons were apprehended from their respective shops. (1) Ghandi Das (51 yrs), proprietor of Babu Garment Shop, NL Road, Dimapur. (2) Biswajit Gosh (42 yrs), proprietor of Babu Garment Shop, NL Road, Dimapur, (3) Bakul Saha (40yrs), proprietor of Deepak Store, NL Road, Dimapur. All the 03 (three) arrestee together with the seized items brought to east PS and registered a case u/s. 008/18 u/s 120 (B)/420 IPC R/W 63 Copy Right Act and investigation revealed all the seize items were illegally imported from Myanmar country, and illegally purchased and sales in local market with same trade mark of Puma (cat logo),” it stated.
