Dimapur, July 25 (EMN): In view of the ensuing 10 Northern Angami-I bye-election, Excise Kohima Election Expenditure Monitoring Squad (EEMS)/duty party on Friday seized around 250 bottles of assorted Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), 12 bottles of adulterated liquor and 50 litres of country liquor.
According to superintendent of Excise & Prohibition and nodal officer (EEM) Kohima, Vikikhe Aomi, the Excise Kohima EEMS led by Excise inspector, Vipral Tase and assistant inspectors, Pusukhung and Akum conducted raids at Upper AG Colony and New Market Colony, Kohima and arrested 10 persons in this connection.
Excise Kohima informed that fine was imposed on the arrested persons under relevant section of Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act 1989 and seized articles were kept at Excise malkhala for destruction. It has been informed that the Excise EEMS would be conducting such raids till bye-election was conducted.
