Tribute to departed Christian icon

Billy Graham was undoubtedly the greatest evangelist of the twentieth century whose life touched millions of lives across the globe including Nagaland, a tribute from a leader of the Angami Baptist Church Council has stated, on Wed.

“As he ascended into heaven this day, I believe his dearest Savior and Lord Jesus Christ had readily embraced him with these loving words –’Well done! My friend’ – and cheered by hosts of grateful people there at his homecoming,” V Atsi Dolie, executive director of the Angami Baptist Church Council, stated in a condolence message paying tributes to the departed Christian icon.

The news of Dr. Billy Graham’s demise, the message stated, brings immense sense of loss. He was an “unparalleled man adorned with uncommon qualities, yet so humble and simple was Billy Graham,” Dolie stated.

‘Billy Graham had made a remarkable impression in Kohima with his “Billy Graham Evangelistic Crusade” in 1972, which elderly ones will fondly remember. His love for Jesus, untainted integrity and unswerving commitment to Jesus Christ are his trademarks,’ the message read.

“Amidst the loss, we ought to celebrate his life for who he was – a man of God – and be thankful for such gift of God in our time. Yet, Billy Graham will be missed dearly,” the message added.
