Dimapur, August 18 (EMN): Workshop on organic farming: soil health management with local resources was organised by Green Growers, a group of upcoming organic farming entrepreneurs from Nagaland at Yeveto village, Under Nuiland, Dimapur on August 17.
Speaking as the resource person Samir Bordoloi, freelance organic farming expert and renowned agripreneur, shared the techniques and methods of organic farming and its benefit through different processes like vermin compost and vermin wash to increase crop production.
He said the objective of the workshop was to promote enthusiast farmers towards organic farming with the initiative of Green Growers to provide service towards maintaining homestead organic gardens and promoting ‘grow your own organic food camping’ to sustain livelihood and standardising commercially the need of organic foods for better health, using local resources.
Later, Bordoloi explained the procedures and standards of how to make compost heap, vermin compost, vermin wash, raised bed and use of latex plant extract to repel insects, fungi etc destroying the crops.
