Dimapur, Jan. 15 (EMN): A training programme for officials appointed to various teams for election expenditure monitoring duties was conducted at the Mokokchung Town Hall on Jan. 12. Updates from the Mokokchung IPR informed on Mon.
Those who attended the training included officials and personnel appointed to be attached to the complaint monitoring control room and call centre; assistant expenditure observers; video viewing team, video surveillance team, accounting team, flying squad team, static surveillance team; and officials for media certification and monitoring cells.
In his keynote address, the district election officer of Mokokchung Sachin Jaiswal urged the trainees to be aware of their respective electioneering duty. He said that more intensive training programmes would be conducted after the declaration of the dates for elections for the state.
The training was conducted by assistant commissioner of Mokokchung Ajit Kumar Verma.
More than 200 officials from various teams attached with the Election Expenditure Monitoring cell attended the programme.
Strengthening the election expenditure monitoring mechanism aims at ‘purifying’ the forthcoming Nagaland assembly elections, the report stated.
