Dimapur, August 5 (EMN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has asked the state government to either implement the 25% job reservation for “eastern Nagas” against the vacancies it had advertised in the newspapers on April 5 this year, or ‘re-advertise the same’ in the event of ‘anomalies’. In a letter addressed to the director of Youth Resources and Sports, the student organisation suggested that the state government had failed to “comply with the equal opportunity in matter of public employment and also not being able to adhere to 25% job reservation policy of the state government for the Eastern Nagas viz- Chang, Konyak, Phom, Sangtam, Khiamniungan and Yimchunger.”
This, according to the ENSF, was in relation to an advertisement for the posts of “storekeeper and LDA-cum-computer assistant” issued by the state government on April 5 this year. Against this, the ENSF demanded that the department concerned “implement 25% job reservation or cancel the result and re-advertise the same if there is any anomalies or manipulation in filling up the posts”.
It asked the department not to declare the results to the posts advertised “until a clear clarification is being justified”.
