Dimapur, May 4: An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale rocked parts of northeast India including Nagaland on Saturday evening.
According to the Indian Meteorological department, the tremor occurred at the latitude of 26.3 degrees north and longitude 95.8 degrees east, with a depth of 10 Km.
According to the USGS, the epicentre was in the Sagaing region of Myanmar with a depth of 100.3 km.
Here in Nagaland, the quake occurred at 4.33 pm, 93 km southeast of Mon and was felt in Dimapur and some parts of the state. The earthquake was felt in some parts of Assam, Meghalaya and adjoining areas of northeastern region too.
There were no reports of casualties or damage to property.
