DSSU free bus service for students

Dimapur, Feb. 16: In its effort to provide all logistic support to students appearing their examinations, Dimapur Sumi Students’ Union (DSSU) has announced to provide free bus services at various designated points till the indefinite bandh is lifted.

In a joint press statement, DSSU president Tovika K Chishi and the general secretary Steve Chophy, pointed out that students are facing untold hardship and problems to reach their exam centres due to the total bandh. They also pointed that under the prevailing situation it was impossible for the students to have the “state of mind” and appear their exams peacefully as they are constantly under fear psychosis.
In the light of the prevailing circumstances, DSSU appealed the volunteers and all right thinking citizens to let the students pass without causing any psychological harassment. Further, it appealed to all schools and institution to inform the students of the bus service provided by the union.

DSSU further called upon all the students, irrespective of tribes and communities, to avail the bus services at the various designated places and pick-up points. Students are asked to contact its president on phone no. 9089285588 and the general secretary on phone no. 7085613161 for further information.

1. Designated Bus Stop-

(i) Green Park Junction towards Burma camp junction and city tower

(ii) Thilixu Junction towards Half-nagarjan , Dimapur Railway Station, Notun Bosti Junction therafter

(iii) Sub-Jail (Tin-Ali) Junction towards Dhobinulla and Nyamo Lotha Road.

(iv) Sub-Jail (Tin-Ali) Junction towards Notun Bosti Junction and City Tower

(v) Signal-Lomthi colony Junction towards Dhobinulla and DC Court.

2. All Students, teachers and invigilators are advised to take the busses for exam centres which fall in the particular route.

3. All students, teachers and invigilators are advised to be at the designated place and pick-up points latest by 7:30 am for morning session and 11:30 am for the evening session.

4. All students, teachers and invigilators are informed that the transportation arrangements are only for the purpose of dropping the students, teachers and invigilators to the exam centres.

5. All students, teachers and invigilators are to produce admit cards and Identity cards to the DSSU official in-charge.
