Five persons have been arrested by Dimapur police in connection with cases involving six motorcycles that the authorities said were stolen, while two persons have been arrested on charges of possessing and transporting cannabis.
Dimapur police issued a press release on Saturday, August informing about the arrest, which occurred during various occasions.
Authorities have arrested five persons in connection with six motorcycles that the police said were stolen. On August 27, the press release stated, personnel of Dimapur police under zone-I conducted a “special drive based on specific information”.During the operation, the police found six stolen motorcycles from different parts of the city, the authorities said.
The police have taken into custody five persons. They have been identified as one Sushoka Chishi of Toluvi village in Dimapur, Mughaka Assumi of Saghemi village under Suruhoto, Meizeu Tsikhano of Kohima village in Kohima district, Ngukato Achumi of Zaphu village under Akuluto of Zunheboto district, and Thituzo of Chozuba under Phek district.
The authorities confiscated six motorcycles of various models from them. The police have release the details of the motorbikes.

Also, Dimapur police have arrested two persons from Manipur on charges of trying to smuggle in cannabis.
The police said that the contraband was found in a vehicle on August 28 when personnel of Dimapur police stopped a white Maruti Van at Kuda village in Dimapur and searched it. The vehicle bore the registration NL-04/4033.
During the search, the enforcement personnel found 21 packets of “suspected contraband ganja” weighing approximately 70 kilograms concealed in the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle and a passenger has been arrested. The two persons have been identified as one Athisu Mao, a 28-year old from Shajouba village of Senapati district in Manipur; the occupant of the vehicle was identified as a Lokha Mao, a 23-year old also from Shajouba . They have been arrested and the contraband and the vehicle have been confiscated, the authorities said.
