Dimapur, Jan. 12 (EMN): The district election officer of Kiphire district Mohammed Ali Shihab has informed that the upper ceiling of 5 % of the total allocation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) was taken out from the warehouses ‘for awareness purpose,’ in the presence of representatives of all recognised political parties on Jan. 10.
Representatives from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress, Naga People’s Front were present when the EVMs and VVPAT and resealing of the warehouse, a DPRO report on Thur. stated.
Also, Electoral Registration Officer Kumar Ramnikant has informed the public that the list of amendments to the draft electoral roll for the 59th Seyochung-Sitimi and 60th Pungro-Kiphire assembly constituencies has been prepared with reference to Jan. 1 as the qualifying date and in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rule, 1960.
Said roll along with the list of amendments has been published on Jan. 10. A copy of the roll was distributed to representatives of all recognised political parties by Mohammed Ali Shihab.
