DPS felicitates successful students

Dimapur, May 26 : Advisor for Urban Development Department, S.I Jamir who is also the chairman of Delhi Public School, Dimapur today congratulated the successful students of the recently declared All India Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (AISSCE).

The chief guest while speaking at the felicitation programme, encouraged the students not to look back but to strive hard to achieve more. He recalled that opening of DPS was conceived many years back with an aim to impart quality education to young children. Till such time there was no DPS in Nagaland affiliated to CBSE, he said and expressed gratitude to the senior students for making the managing board, teaching staff, principal and parents proud by their achievements.
He further advised the younger students to surpass this year’s achievement in order to bring more laurels to the institution. The chief guest felicitated the student achievers with a cash prize of Rs. 25000, a bouquet and a certificate.

Principal DPS, who also spoke on the occasion, said that it was an opportunity to welcome the chief guest showcasing the academic talents of the students who are going to take the country into new heights in the likes of APJ Abdul Kalam and Gandhi.

Citing ‘record’ as a term that can be replaced, the Principal of DPS advised the present class- 12 students to outwit this year’s result with better marks for the glory of the school.

He reminded that it was the personal initiative of S.I Jamir to open DPS in Dimapur in 2002 with a vision to give quality education with minimum expenditure to the people of Nagaland.

The principal expressed gratitude to the parents, management, teaching and non-teaching staff for their supports. He informed about the decision taken by the school where a cash award of Rs 1 Lakh will be given to any student who secures 100%.

It may be mentioned that 6 students of DPS secured 95% and above and 12 students secured 90% and above in the recently declared AISSCE examination. Pro- Vice Chairman, DPS Dimapur Dr. Ao Toshi, parents of achievers, students, teachers and well-wishers attended the felicitation programme held at the assembly hall of the school.

Six students were rewarded with cash money of Rs. 25000 each along with certificates and bouquets and the other 12 students were rewarded with cash money of Rs. 15000 each along with certificates and bouquets.

Like the present trend of female securing the top position, this year the highest scorer of DPS Dimapur was also a female student, Sajal Jain who scored 96.8%. And out of the 18 outstanding performers of the school womenfolk took most of the positions.
