Dimapur, March 20: The Diphupar Naga Youth Organisation (DNYO) on Wednesday organised a felicitation programme for Khetoho V Zhimomi, who won bronze at the recent 4th International Thai Martial Arts and Games Festival in Bangkok, Thailand. The felicitation programme was held at Diphupar Council hall.

Speaking at the programme, Khetoho said that it was through the prayers and support of the Nagas that he won the title. “I hope that my winning the title will be a blessing for the entire Nagas,” said Zhimomi

Khetoho acknowledged the PDA government under the leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio and minister for PHED, Jacob Zhimomi for their continuous support and assistance.

He further informed that he would be representing the country at the World Kick Boxing Championship in October to be held at Russia and asked to pray for his good health.

Khetoho encouraged the youth, especially the women to take up kickboxing not just as a hobby but for self-defence. “Apart from self-defence it will also be a good career opportunity for women if taken up seriously,” said Zhimomi. He also asked the gathering to pray in whatever they do. “It is through prayer and hard work, we can achieve anything,” he said.

Some of Khetoho’s notable achievements are: 14 times national gold medallist, 1 time national best fighter, 3 times Northeast best fighter, 1 time state best fighter, and best black belt, 5th dan. He is also the elder brother of Kivi Zhimomi, the first Naga player to be signed by an ISL franchise.
