Dimapur, Jan. 10 (EMN): Several districts in Nagaland have announced list of amendments to the draft electoral roll. The government bulletin DIPR issued updates on Thursday informing about the draft rolls.

The electoral registration officer (ERO) of Kohima district, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, has informed that the list of amendments to the draft electoral roll for 8-Western Angami; 9-Kohima town; 10-Northern Angami-I; 11-Northern Angami-II; 12-Tseminyu; 14-Southern Angami-I; and 15-Southern Angami-II assembly constituencies has been prepared. It has been prepared with reference to January 1, 2019 as the qualifying date and in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, the updates stated.

A copy of the roll along with the amendments has been published and will be available for inspection at the office of the ERO of Kohima, and the booth level officer.

The qualification date for all is January 1, 2019. A copy of the roll together with the list of amendment has been published and will be available for inspection in the office of the ERO of the districts.

An event related to elections was a ‘voters’ awareness forum’ that the DIPR informed would be launched in Kohima. The district’s Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Soundararajan has informed that Voters Awareness Forum for Kohima will be formed and formally launched on January 16.

The administrator has directed nodal officers to be present on January 16 at 11:00 am in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner. The “DLMTs,” the DIPR stated will be giving a briefing on the role and responsibilities of the forum.

Mokokchung

The ERO of Mokokchung has informed that the list of amendments to the final electoral roll for 21-Tuli, 22-Arakakong, 23-Impur, 24-Angetyongpang, 25-Mongoya, 26-Aonglenden, 27-Mokokchung town, 28-Koridang, 29-Jangpetkong and 30-Alongtaki assembly constituencies has been prepared. The qualification date for all is January 1, 2019.

A copy of the roll together with the list of amendment has been published and will be available for inspection in the office of the ERO of Mokokchung.

Dimapur

The ERO of Dimapur has informed that the list of amendments to the draft electoral roll for 1st Dimapur-I, 2nd Dimapur-II, 3rd Dimapur-III, 4th Ghaspani-I, and 5th Ghaspani-II assembly constituencies has been prepared.

Mon’s election unit meets

A meeting on the final publication of electoral roll for Mon district was held on January 10 in the DC’s conference hall in Mon town.

Earlier, a notification was issued by the ERO for public information that the list of amendments to the draft electoral roll had been prepared for 41-Tizit, 42-Wakching, 43-Tapi; 44-Phomching, 45-Tehok, 46-Mon town, 47-Aboi, 48-Moka; and 55-Tobu.

A copy of the roll together with the list of amendments has been published and will be available for inspection at his office during office hours.

The district election officer of Mon, Thavaseelan K, and ERO Kumar Ramnikant handed over copies of final published electoral rolls to representatives of recognized political parties.

Peren district

The ERO of Peren, Sarita Yadav has released the final publication of photo electoral rolls and handed of a copy to each of the political parties in Peren district in connection with the special summary revision in respect of 6-Tening and 7-Peren assembly constituencies on January 10.

Additional inputs informed that the list of amendments to the draft electoral roll for said assembly constituencies had been prepared. A copy of the roll together with the list of amendments has been published and will be available for inspection with the district’s election authority and booth level officer of respective polling station/area.
