Diphu, August 13 (EMN): As a part of India Independence day celebration the employees of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) has taken up Swacch Bharat, a cleanliness drive with a slogan of ‘Go green Diphu Town’ and ‘make clean Diphu Town’. The team took the cleanliness drivein an around KAAC campus and in the public footpath including Indian Post office and in Rongnihang area at Diphu-Manja road on Sunday. The cleanliness drives was organised by Clean Karbi Anglong Mission (CKAM).
The cleanliness drives was led by KAAC Principal Secretary Jayshree Daulagaphu. The management of Diphu Town Committee also took part in the cleanliness drive. Swacch Bharat Abhiyan was also organised in Sambuda Border police outpost area of Assam-Meghalaya in West Karbi Anglong district under Chingthong constituency local MAC wherein Pradeep Rongpi led the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan program. However owing to continuous rainfall in the region, the cleanliness drive was halted for the day and will resume on Monday.
