Dimapur, Feb. 12 : With 25 roads in Dimapur expected to don a new look by the end of the year, the minister of the Public Works department, Tongpang Ozukum inspected some of the ongoing road projects in the commercial hub on February 12.
While the minister appreciated the work being done around Dimapur in full swing and at a good pace, he appealed to citizens to “appreciate the good works too and not only pin point only the shortcomings.”
A source from the department told Eastern Mirror that almost all the contractors except for one has started the work.
“Even though the contractor has not started constructing the road, it is with certainty that the particular road will be completed along with the rest by the end of the year,” the source informed.
This is the first time that the PWD has been given partial autonomy in designing the roads in accordance with requirements for which the tenders were submitted in November 2018.
