Municipal Affairs Secretary Dr. Maongwati Aier inaugurated a box culvert at Residency Colony in Dimapur, the 9th project constructed by the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), on Wednesday November 18.
With the continuous endeavor of DMC’s developmental projects, Aier said that with the construction of the culvert, it has benefited the people of Residency colony and all the other colonies. He also expressed hope that this would solve the problems of artificial floods in the colony.He further lauded and credited Dimapur Municipal Council to be the best amongst all the Municipal and Town Councils in the state. Thereupon he urged the Mokokchung Municipal Council to start initiatives for payment of taxes and improve the sanitation and stated “We should learn to pay taxes”.
The secretary disclosed that a new office for the Dimapur Municipal Council would be constructed on Public Private Partnership (PPP) method soon with the building comprising of DMC office, marketing complex, bank and parking space for vehicles. The box culvert at Residency Colony Dimapur was inaugurated in the presence of DMC’s administrator H Atokhe Aye, other DMC officials and the colony chairmen and Gaon Bura.
