Dimapur, Feb. 21 (EMN): A Static Surveillance team posted at the Pataki Bridge at Chumukedima in Dimapur on Feb.20 intercepted a taxi coming from Kohima that was carrying INR 10 lac. without proper documents in support of the source and objective of the money being carried.
An update from the DIPR stated that the seized cash was being investigated by the Income Tax department. Considering the objective of the Election Commission for ‘clean,’ free and fair elections, it is being verified whether or not the cash was being brought for use for ‘corrupt practices in the election process.’
