Dimapur, March 4 (EMN): Dimapur Police, on January 23, intercepted a vehicle bearing MN-03-P-1632 (Datsun Go) from the 7th Mile area, Dimapur. During the search of the vehicle, 70 Kgs of contraband Ganja was recovered. In this connection, one person identified as A. Lohe Chachü, son of Ashikho of Punanami village, Senapati has been arrested and the case is being under investigation at the Diphupar Police Station.
On February 27, AET under Zone-II of Dimapur Police arrested one person on charges of extortion, when the latter was found collecting unauthorized taxes in the name of the NSCN (IM). The arrested person has been identified as Khaka Yepthomi, son of late Yehevi Yepthomi of Chishilimi Village, Zunheboto. A case has been registered and under investigation at the West Police Station.
In a similar case, AET under the Zone-I of Dimapur Police, on March 3, arrested two persons on charges of extortion after the duo were found extorting money from the business establishments in Purana Bazaar area, Dimapur. The arrested duo were identified as Angukavi Yepthomi, son of late Hukavi Yepthomi of Asukhomi village, Zunheboto, reportedly a 2nd Lieutenant of the NNC (NA) and Tovika Sema, son of Ngukhavi Sema of Yehemi village, Zunheboto. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dimapur stated that incriminating documents in the form of demand slips of the NNC (NA) were seized from their possession. A case has been registered and under investigation at East Police Station, Dimapur.
