Dimapur, Aug. 21 (EMN): Dimapur police on Aug. 21 updated on the crime scenario in the city that happened during the last three days and the arrests made by the police in connection with the different cases which was provided by the Addl. Dy. Comm. of Police/PRO, Dimapur in a press note.
Vehicle theft: On Tue. two persons identified as one Obeto Awomi (31), resident of Chekiye village, and Ngukato Achumi (25), resident of Diphupar ‘K’ Khel, Dimapur, were apprehended by the public with a stolen motorbike (Bajaj Pulsar 150 cc) and also discovered that they were in possession of 2 grams of ‘suspected brown sugar’ and 6 capsules of ‘spasmo proxvon’. A case has been registered at Diphupar Police Station and further investigation is on.
Extortion: On Aug. 19, Dimapur Police apprehended a person identified as one Kiliangtsungbo Newmai, a resident of Kevejau colony, Signal Bosti, Dimapur, from Sunday bazaar, railway colony, Dimapur, for extorting money from food vendors in the name of NPGN (Hozheto faction). 22 capsules of Spasmo proxvon and cash amount of INR 230 were also recovered. A case has been registered at East Police Station.
On the same day, one Rokermangyang Ao (48), identified as SS. Capt. of NNC Non-accordist, a resident of Netaji Colony, Block- V, Dimapur, was also arrested for extorting money from vegetable vendors at Sunday bazaar, Netaji colony, Dimapur. A cash amount of INR 1560/- was recovered from and a case has been registered at East PS.
Person rescued: On Aug. 19, Dimapur women police rescued a non-local female from Kaziranga Bali Assam who was kidnapped from Xikiye village, under Kuhoboto PS on June 24, 2018. The accused Zakhiruddin (26) of Kaziranga village, Bali Chira, was also arrested in this connection. A case has been registered in Women PS, informed the Dimapur police PRO.
