Dimapur, Feb. 14 (EMN): The Joint Committee on Prevention of Illegal Immigrants (JCPI) has once again asserted that the demand for bringing the entire district of Dimapur under the ambit of ILP was non-negotiable.

The committee issued a statement on Thursday expressing hope that there would be enumeration of the indigenous population of Nagaland within the ambit of Nagaland Indigenous inhabitants notification No. AR-8/8/76 dated April, 1977; and formulation of standard operation procedure on ILP/BEFR for strict enforcement of the same.

“ILP issuance to be linked electronically allowing the movement of the ILP holders to be monitored; and prevent its misuse and exploitation. Necessary checkpoints at all the entry points in Dimapur district, including the entire disturbed area belt.

“Formation of ILP permanent cell under the Home department. This cell will maintain links with land/patta registration authorities and various departments issuing driving licenses, trade licenses, etc. Automatic cancellation of all indigenous inhabitant certificates/TLs/DLs etc., already issued to dubious persons and their descendants if their enrolment is not found in the data bank,” read the committee’s wish list.
