Dimapur, March 14 (EMN): Village Council, VDB and public of Hono Hankvu have whole heartedly appreciated Wezope Kenye, Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, for inaugurating the village gate on March 11. The village was constructed under MGNREGA Scheme 2015 – 16.
The chief guest, in his speech, applauded the VDB secretary and the people of Hono Hankvu for managing to complete the village gate successfully with a meagre amount. He also exhorted the villagers to foster love and unity among the community and to preserve the rich heritage of the forefathers.Stressing unity and hard work as pillar of development, he further urged the community to respect their leaders and village functionaries without any bias in order to make a better place to live.
Thungdeno Mozhui, Project Director DRDA, Wokha, and guest of honour, highlighted on the department schemes and policies and made the members acquaints with norms. Expounding on the applicability of ‘Survival of the fittest,’ he encouraged the members to implement government policies, rules and procedures and translated into reality.
BDO Wokha, Thungbeni Ngullie, in her emotional speech, assured to do greater work in future, while SDO (Electrical) Albert Ovung highlighted the emergence of the village history.
The chief guest was accompanied by a host of officials including K Thavaseelan, ADC Headquarters –II; Tsutsowe Kupa, EAC Headquarters; Nlumsao Ovung, PA to DC; Dr. Robin Mozhui, Medical Superintendent, Wokha; BDO Wozhuro; BDO Wokha; SDO electrical; and Dr. Thungdemo Ovung, senior scientist from London.
Earlier, the gate was dedicated by pastor Nchubomo Ovung. The programme was chaired by Mhathung Ovung, village council chairman, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Mhonbemo Ovung, VDB secretary.
