The DC stated this while briefing the sector magistrates and sector police officers of nine assembly constituencies of Mon district on January 9 in his office’s conference hall. He has emphasised on vulnerability in the context of elections, where the exercise of Vulnerability Mapping (VM) is to be undertaken with the objective of clearly identifying in advance the vulnerable voters in all the constituencies. He informed that Vulnerability Mapping exercise would be carried out without exception in three stages. It included identifying the voters or segment of voters who are vulnerable to threat or intimidation; identifying the persons who are causing such vulnerability; and initiating preventive measures against the persons responsible for causing vulnerability. He also urged the sector magistrates to carry out their pre-poll eve and poll day responsibilities diligently. He encouraged them to undertake frequent trips to their sectors/zones and liaison with all stakeholders as a confidence building measure. Reny Wilfred, SDO (C), Mon, spoke briefly on Systemic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP). He urged the officials to take up effective SVEEP activities in their respective jurisdiction. Any queries on election matters could be obtained by contacting district helpline +91 9612014688.
