DC Mokokchung urges DPDB members to be punctual

Dimapur, Feb. 24: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel has once again asked all the DPDB members and officers in the district to be punctual in office and reiterated that all the officers to leave the station, be it on duty with a notice given to the DC saying that it is for their good.

Addressing the monthly meeting of DPDB meeting in the conference hall of ADC (Planning) on February 24, Patel said that the officers of district administration maintained utmost punctuality in the office and asked others to follow suit. He expressed deep gratitude to administrative officers for their punctuality in office.
On the issue of maintaining good neighbourly relation with the border areas of Assam-Nagaland, DC said all efforts are being made at district level to ensure that peaceful atmosphere always prevails in the border areas with Assam. He appealed to all the members to play a part in sensitizing people living in the border areas on both sides.

Temsuwati, DIO, NIC, Mokokchung who is also the member of the Border Peace Coordination Committee, BPCC (Assam-Nagaland) informed the members in the meeting that as part of creating good neighbourly relations between Assam and Nagaland an exchange programme for High school students of Mariani area of Assam and Tsurangkong area of Nagaland is being scheduled to be held in March 2017. He said atleast 60 High school students from border area of Assam side will be invited along with their teachers and parents to Tsurangkong for the exchange programme. During the meet there will be exchange programme between students, parents and teachers. The objective is to create oneness among the people living in the border areas by knowing each other through interaction, Wati said.

The meeting also discussed upgradation of Eden Academy School, Kumlong Ward, Mokokchung town and establishment of Government Primary School at Satsu village.

Earlier, DC welcomed new DPDB member Arenla Longkumer, Principal of Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung.
