Dimapur, Sep 9 (EMN): Deputy Commissioner, Mon, W Honje Konyak had inaugurated the Wahan Vegetable Market in Mon town on September 7.
Speaking at the programme, Honje said the market from a waste land, with the help of the people in the area, was constructed into a market with contributions from few individuals. He stated that the project was taken up in pursuance to his visions for the Konyaks.
Urging the vendors to keep the market clean, he asked the Mon Town Council (MTC) to penalise the defaulters and also complete the remaining tasks without waiting for government sanctions. The market was the brain child of the DC, W Honje Konyak, who himself had spearheaded in the construction works till its completion.
ADC, Mon, Shanavas C, chaired the programme. SDO (C), Phomching, Ilika Zhimomi delivered the welcome address. Leaders from various NGOs also delivered short speeches.
