Dimapur, August 13 (EMN): Clark Theological College (CTC) celebrated its 45th foundation day with Rev. Dr. N Tzudir, pastor of Dimapur Ao Baptist Church, as the speaker and Ms Aolemla Jamir, Development Commissioner of Planning & Coordination, as the guest of honour, on August 10.
Stressing on the need for the leader with clear vision, the guest of honour admonished the CTC to work diligently to develop and produce young men and women with clear vision.
Stating that CTC is grounded on the vision, Aolemla challenged both teachers and students to carry forward the legacy of the pioneers. She also reminded the students of their challenging responsibility to mentor others in the days to come.
Rev. Dr. N Tzudir, who is also an alumnus of Clark Theological College, observed that “Nagas have accepted Christianity as religion and not Jesus Christ as their personal saviour” as they are often been blown away when faced with challenges.
Observing that Naga Christians are caught in between ‘Right versus Truth,’ the pastor noted with regret that most Naga Christians are more inclined towards “rights.”
Rev. Tzudir also challenged the gathering to identify and clearly differentiate between rights and truth and reaffirm our foundation in the Holy Scripture which is the Word of God. He said Christians, as followers of Jesus Christ, need to side with the “truth” which is our Lord Jesus Christ and follow his teaching courageously because “only” the truth will set us free and not the “right.”
The College Principal Rev. Dr. Marnungsang, has exalted the faithfulness of God and the generous support of the people throughout 45 years of its existence.
“We are what we are today because of the pioneers who have sacrificed their all for this great institution and the little we do today is all because of God’s grace and your support,” the Principle said.
Rev. Dr. Marnungsang also said along with the regular academic programmes, CTC is actively involved in publications and contextual research programmes and also organises seminars, consultations, workshops under three research centres.
He also informed that the Graduates of 1992 had donated a sum of Rs 55,000 towards the proposed Clark Centre for North East India Studies (CCNEIS) on account of their 25 years of ministry after graduating from the Clark Theological College.
Coinciding with its 45th foundation day, the main college entrance gate was inaugurated by the guest of honour in which the dedicatory prayer was offered by Rev. I Meren Pongen, secretary finance & property of Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang, on August 10.
Aolemla Jamir acknowledged the hands of God in erecting such a glorious work and further acknowledged the donor’s family and the workmanship of the workers.
The College principal, Rev. Dr. Marnungsang expressed gratitude to the children of late Akangkokba Imsong and Noksentola Longkumtsur of Ungma village for their generosity in constructing such magnificent gate. He informed that late Akangkokba Imsong was the first staff settled at the present Clark Theological College campus along with his family in the year 1976.
