Dimapur, Oct. 12 (EMN): With a view to facilitateing better co-ordination and communication among various government departments, and deliver services efficiently in electronic form in the State, the Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar has informed that the Department Information Technology & Communication (IT&C) had set up all the basic core IT infrastructures.
He also informed that the trend in the country is also in the direction of gradually shifting the functioning government offices to paperless environment. Therefore, the government of Nagaland also encourages all departments and employees to use e-mail, internet, departmental websites, and other means of electronics media while conducting business within the government and with general public. All Administrative Heads of Departments (AHoDs) and Heads of Department (HoDs) have been requested to create facebook and twitter account of their departments to disseminate information on developmental activities. All the departments have also been requested to keep their websites updated with the latest developmental activities. The department may also nominate a Nodal Officer for managing social media presence.
The details of facebook and twitter account created may be communicated to dit-ngl@nic.in on or before Oct. 17 for compilation. Framework and guidelines for use of social media for government organisations can be obtained from the Department of IT&C.
