Couple killed in Diphu

Diphu, Nov. 18 (EMN): In a gruesome incident, unidentified miscreants killed a man and his wife on the night of November 15 last. The victims have been identified as 55-year-old Kehai Teron and his wife Ka-et Ringhangpi, aged 45.
The murder took place under Diphu Sadar Police station, Karbi Anglong. In this connection, a complaint has been registered.
According to family sources, the incident occurred during the interverning hours between Nov. 14 night and early Nov. 25 morning. On November 14, the couple went to their jhum field in Mijungdisa forest where they cultivated rice, sesame and other crops. The next morning, on November 15, their son-in-law found them found them dead.
The villagers took the bodies and informed the police on Nov. 16. An autopsy was conducted today at the Diphu Civil Hospital.
The incident occurred about 25 km away from Diphu police station. Residents of Mijungdisa complained to this reporter that the KAAC authorities were neglecting them. The residents appealed to the KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang ‘to take the needful steps for the development of the area.’
