Dimapur, July 26 : Nagas are proud of their unique history, culture and identity but unfortunately quality of integrity is rapidly diminishing in present society which needs to be reestablished, said Chief Minister TR Zeliang while speaking on the theme “Conscia Mens Recti” of the 6th ENSF Fiesta-cum-General Session which began today at Local ground Mon town.

Commenting on theme, he said that the ENSF has chosen the right theme at the right time and congratulated them for preserving the rich culture of the Eastern Nagas.

The chief minister said, the ENSF has been working commendably not only for the student’s body but also for the entire people of the Eastern Nagaland.
“They have been actively functioning as effective powerful pressure group to oversee the functioning of the government office and their officers and influence the government policies and decisions.”

On the issue of reservation policy of Back Ward Tribe, he said, the ENSF has brought to light many shortcomings which need to be implemented compelling the government to issue many fresh directives for effective implementation of the backward reservation policy.

He also said that on the demand of the ENSF, many local teachers have been appointed recently and urged the teachers to make a difference by performing their duties sincerely.

Asserting that the government is in the process of bringing out the Nagaland Vision Document with a guiding principle of achieving self-sufficiency in Agri-allied sector, roads, water supply, power and job opportunity to unemployed youths through industrialization and information technology, Zeliang appealed to all to contribute to the vision document for effective strategy and planning.

On Naga political issue, the chief minister reiterated that an oppositionless government, comprising all 60 legislators was formed under his leadership in order to pave way for inclusive and lasting solution.

But he lamented that such opportunity has been delayed, due to lack of unity and integrity amongst the Nagas. He also emphasized on improvement and development of road, which is essential for all round development.

The opening session was attended by Home Minister, Minister for PHED, Minister for RD & REPA, Minister for H& FW, Advisors to CM, Advisor DUDA, Parliamentary secretary for CAWD, Parliamentary secretary for Art & Culture, Parliamentary secretary for Home Guard and Sericulture, Parliamentary secretary municipal affairs, economic and statistic, Parliamentary secretary for Youth resources and sports and MLAs.
