Community organisation calls on new DC of Kohima

Kohima, Feb. 22: A local organisation from Kohima, the Angamimiapfü Mechü Krotho (AMK) called on the recently appointed deputy commissioner of Kohima, Rajesh Soudararanjan, on February 22 at the deputy commissioner’s office chamber.
The AMK acknowledged that following his deputation, the new deputy commissioner had to shoulder the responsibility of the recent bandh and protests in Kohima. In appreciation of his efforts, the AMK delegates presented him with an Angami shawl.The AMK’s President Ruokuoheü Miachieo gave a short speech. She welcomed Soudararanjan and said that before the women organization could greet him on his new assignment, the “unfortunate and terrible” incident occurred. She also extended the organisation’s gratitude to the deputy commissioner and his subordinates for their patience for the people, “even at the point of pain, death and destruction your esteemed authority could firmly hold on with true and dedicated love to our people without which unimaginable sever loss of life, pain, grief, destruction would have taken place”.
The AMK also urged the deputy commissioner to render efficient and good governance for the welfare of the community and the people in general.
