Dimapur, May 13 (EMN): Residents of Circuit House Colony Council took upon themselves to repair the deplorable road after repeated pleas to the government and municipal fell on deaf ears.
Due to the deplorable road condition in the colony for more than two decades, the colony council has been appealing to the government for maintenance of road. However, their repeated appeals fell on deaf ears.
With no assistance from government, the colony residents voluntarily carried out the mission of road repairing work on Saturday May 13. It may be mentioned here that the Colony is home to two prominent government assets- Circuit House, Dimapur, and historical monument Kachari ruins (Rajbari).
The council members alleged that one local contractor was allotted the work to repair the road, which was never implemented. With no positive outcome, the colony residents decided to maintain the road with contributions from among themselves.
