Dimapur, August 21 (EMN): When jails are meant for prisoners to be securely confined within its boundaries with the help of physical barriers, the district jail at Wokha have a big breach in its boundary wall for the last five months.
Deputy Superintendent of the district jail said that the wall collapsed due to the water seepage as a result of water flowing into the jail compound from the higher slopes above the jail.
There is no proper drainage system in the jail premises.
At the time of the collapse there were four convicts and 20 under trail prisoners who were transferred to Kohima and Mokokchung respectively.
