CNTC reiterates on Municipal Act

Dimapur, August 12 (EMN): Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has re-endorsed the JCC members from the CNTC to pursue the pending demands on the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) issues till it is accomplished by keeping focus on the original JCC demands without any political agendas or involvement in it.

The resolution to this effect was taken in the meeting of the apex Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) with its three Dimapur based federating units namely the Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD), Lotha Hoho Dimapur (LHD) and the Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) on August 5 at Lotha Hoho Ki, Dimapur.

CNTC, in a statement issued by its Media Cell, reiterated support to the demands of the JCC for the revocation of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly resolution dated of 24th November 2016 on the ULB issue and the demand of for a Joint Inquiry Committee (JIC) report from the State government within two months time period. It has demanded for an early amendment of the contentious Municipal Act 2001.

It stated that JCC will have prior consultations and proper co-ordination with the apex CNTC platform for any issues or matters involving the common interests while pursuing the demands.
