Dimapur, August 14 (EMN): The Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has demanded from the state government of Nagaland immediate redress of the plight and grievances of Workers Union of the Nagaland Pulp and Paper Company (WU-NPPCL) at Tuli “lest it may snowball into another major upheaval.”
The media cell of the CNTC issued a press release to the media on Monday.
“Due to the lackadaisical attitude of the state government despite of continuous appeal even after a lapse of so many months, the long suffering workers has been put over the edge and with their patience fully running out dry, the Workers Union have now took into the streets as the last resort in order to show their resentment and for the redressal (sic) of their numerous demands,” the CNTC stated.
“The people of the four districts have been put into tremendous hardship due to the economic blockade. Therefore the CNTC has asked the state government to look into the sufferings and take immediate measures to fulfill the charter of demands of the workers union without any delay.”
