Dimapur, March 2 (EMN): Central Nagaland Students’ Association (CNSA) has voiced serious concern over the contents of the August 3, 2015, ‘Framework Agreement’ signed between the Government of India and the NSCN (IM), following the recent statement of both the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, in an election rally in Manipur that no force in the world can disintegrate Manipur’s territory and that no point relates to Manipur.

CNSA president Charles Lotha and the general secretary Yimlanger Jamir today said the political rhetoric of the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister was of grave concern and called for serious re-introspection.
Stating that the peace accord brought hope to the Naga peoples’ movement, it however said the ‘Framework Agreement’ which was shrouded in mystery is now eventually being divulged. It said the statement of both Modi and Rajnath that ‘the centre would not allow anyone to distort the territorial integrity of Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh,’ distorted the presumed fact that peace talks encompass areas of Greater Nagaland adding such a statement revealed betrayal to the trust bestowed by the people.

CNSA wanted to know as to why the Government of India and the NSCN (IM) was reluctant to declare the content of the August 3, 2015 ‘Framework Agreement’ in black and white.

It said people will not accept agreement or settlement, any solution brought about, if it is not in the interest of the entire Nagas.

It said Nagas are competent and confident enough to mould their own destiny in line with the tradition and customary practices which has been its guiding force since time immemorial. It, therefore, reminded the Government of India and the NSCN (IM), that solution without taking the stakeholders into confidence will be futile and fruitless.

CNSA further made its stand clear to the Government of India and NSCN (IM) that without consultation and taking the stakeholders into concerned, Nagas of Nagaland will not accept any agreement or settlement.
