CNSA seeks RTI answer of Tuli Paper mill’s finance, management

EMN Dimapur, March 18 The Central Nagaland Students’ Association (CNSA) has sought complete details of finance, financing, bank holding and other subsidiary particulars concerning the management of the Nagaland Pulp & Paper Mill, at Tuli, in Mokokchung district. The organization has sought the information on the platform of the Right to information Act. The CNSA, a conglomeration of the Ao, Lotha and Sumi student tribal apexes, issued a copy of an application addressed to the Public Information Officer, of Nagaland Pulp & Paper Mill, on Friday, March 17. The application was filed through Yimlanger Jamir, general secretary of the association. According to the application, the association has sought a response about the amount of funds sanctioned by the Ministry of Heavy industries, Government of India, toward the revival of the Nagaland Pulp & Paper Mill Tuli. Similarly, the association has sought answers about how much amount was received by NPPC Tuli tor the purpose till date. “How has the amount received so far from the Government of India been utilized? Please specify,” the RTI application stated. Further, the CNSA requested information about the bank account into which the funds were being deposited by the Ministry of Heavy Industries. “Do NPPC have a bank account of its own?” the application added. The mill’s authorities are also asked to furnish the “extent of revival/revamping work completed till date with the amount received from the Government of India at the NPPC. Furnish the works yet to be undertaken for the complete revival of the NPPC Tuli.” The organization has also sought details of the companies that have been contracted for the revival of the NPPC. The establishment is asked to specify the company names, the work orders, and their performance so far, and their correspondence addresses. Another query the CNSA raised was about the reasons why there was no Managing Director at the NPPC. The establishment is asked explain the reasons. Likewise, it is told to specify the reasons for “removing the local MLA from the Board Member of NPPC-Tuli.” Besides said points, the application has demanded answers about the roles and functions or responsibilities of the Government of Nagaland towards the revival of the mill. “What has the government of Nagaland contributed or done towards the revival of the NPPC- Tuli till date,” it added.
