Dimapur, Aug. 21 (EMN): The Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) has informed all NSCN members and believers living in “Nagalim” to hold a prayer programme during Sunday worship service on Aug. 26 for the people of Kerala state, who are facing untold miseries from devastating rains and floods.
“Prayer for the people in miseries in a time of such severe calamity is a bounden duty of Christians who fear God,” the CNC president and the general secretary stated in a joint appeal.

The CNC appealed to pray for the consolation of the people who have lost their dear ones; people who have been rendered homeless; proper resettlement of the affected people; for the rescue and relief workers; for the rulers of Kerala and India to be able to tackle the crisis properly; against possible outbreak of diseases after the flood; and for the health and medical workers.

The council expressed hope that the prayers for those unfortunate people would be answered in due time by God.
