Dimapur, Jan. 12 (EMN): Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Peren, held its review meeting on January 10 in its office’s conference hall at new district headquarters.

Addressing the members, CMO Dr. Denis Hangsing urged all categories of staff to rededicate themselves in serving the public and be stationed in their place of posting. He has directed all the staff, especially officers, to apply for leave or take prior permission before leaving their place of posting.

The CMO also informed that Child Helpline 1098 would soon be introduced in the district. He further invited all the staff to the Mini Hornbill cum Mimkut celebration in Athibung from January 15 to 19.

Also addressing the gathering, Dr. Nukshisangla Jamir, DPO RCH/UIP, informed that the Intensive Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) would be conducted from February 3 to 5. Stating that polio has been eradicated except in Pakistan, she spoke on the possibility of getting infection since it is an air borne disease. She, therefore, stated that everyone has a role to play.

Making a power point presentation, NHP district coordinator Among had highlighted on report assessment of health committees in Peren district; facilities available and the achievements, and implementations of various services.

CMO along with other members have welcomed the new deputy CMO, Dr. Yartenla and the medical officer of Heningkunglwa, Dr. Ramdeu Lungalang.

A short farewell programme was also held for the outgoing DPO, NVBDCP, Dr. Limatula.

Besides CMO, deputy CMO, district programme officers, nurses, pharmacist, DAPCU staff, district and block programme management unit staff attended the review meeting.

The house further decided to hold the next review meeting on February 7 and entrusted the DPM NHM to made power point presentation.
