Dimapur, Feb. 24: In a decision that is bound to raise more than just a few eyebrows, the newly elected chief minister of Nagaland Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu on Friday appointed the current president of Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union (NCSU), Pele Khezhie, as his Public Relations Officer (PRO).
A notification announcing Khezhie’s selection was issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Thursday last. In the same order, the CMO also announced that James Liezietsu and Diethoselhou Sachu have been appointed as personal secretaries to the chief minister.
A separate order issued by chief secretary, Pankaj Kumar, on Friday announced that the State Governor has appointed former chief minister, TR Zeliang as advisor (Finance) to the Government of Nagaland with immediate effect.
The advisor (Finance) will share similar rank to that of a cabinet minister. According to the order, Zeliang would be entitled to “pay and allowances and all other facilities admissible to a cabinet minister.”
