Dimapur, June 17 (EMN): Secretary of Land Resources, Y Kikheto, inaugurated the office of Cleaning Brothers (CB) at East Police Colony, Dimapur, on June 17.
Addressing the gathering, Kikheto persuaded the youth to be equipped with skills for self employment without depending on the government. He said Nagaland has 1, 40,000 government employees which topped the list in the country thereby incurring Rs 290 crore annually from the State government ex-chequer. Besides, he said the State spend about Rs 670 crore for import of pigs.
Emphasising on work culture, Sema pointed out that Nagas are influenced by western culture thereby giving way to the good old customs of working without being dependent.
The bureaucrat encouraged the Cleaning Brothers to go beyond their town and not restrict their noble venture to themselves. While appealing the State government to give importance to educated unemployed youth and school dropouts, Sema persuaded the youth to be equipped with skills at the same time.
He also persuaded the Cleaning Brothers to enlarge their ‘tent’ and make use of the many unemployed engineering graduates as there are competitions of rate and quality in the markets. To thrive in the competitive markets, one should be acquainted with the technical know-how, he said.
Sema asked the Cleaning Brothers to enrol him as a member and also assured of his service whenever required.
Managing Director of Cleaning Brothers, Khekavi Sema said the concept for formation of CB happened after an interaction with the youth of Police Colony Dimapur-where most of them were school dropouts. After his graduation, Sema said like most Naga youth, he was confused with his next plan until his interaction with the youth of the colony. He said the team first earned Rs 500 for cleaning water tank.
Crediting their parents for the support and various people who have been their client for the opportunities, Sema expressed optimism that they will rise up and beyond through their noble venture.
