Kohima, Nov. 16 (EMN): Rhitsho Mero scored a brace as Head Hunters Jakhama registered a thumping 4-0 win over Deja Vu Edition the first semi-final match to enter the final of the 24th Classic Cup played here at the Khuociezhie local ground in Kohima on Fri. Nov. 16.

Deja Vu team fielded five defenders in the line-up but couldn’t stop Head Hunters from scoring as they broke the deadlock within two minutes into the play.

Nyithong Magh scored a brilliant free kick from 34 yards to open the account for Head Hunters in two minute following a handball from the opponent defender Achan. Thereafter Deja Vu managed to defend the score line in their first half but hardly threatened in front of the goal failing to breach their opponent’s defence.

Deja Vu goalkeeper made some spectacular saves for the team but his heroics was not able to contribute as Head Hunters ran the rout scoring three goals in the second half.

Injured captain Athing Konyak of Deja Vu was unable to contribute for their team as he was replaced in the second half.

Like the grievous mistake in the first half, Deveikho of Deja Vu committed another handball in the danger zone where Rhistho Mero cooly converted the spot kick in the 53rd minute to double the lead.

Minutes later, Chinsha Phom added the third goal through a brilliant header off a pass from Rhitsho  while Rhitsho Mero doubled his scored from a rebound moments before the final whistle to seal off the victory for Head Hunters.

Head Hunters have scored 28 goals in four matches; they conceded only a goal against Fore Runner Thizama with Rhitsho (nine goals) and Chingsha (seven goals) leading the top scorer in the tournament.

Head Hunters will take on the winner of either Chedema Village Youth Organisation or Kuluopfu FC on Nov. 19.
