CKHSS Kohima sports meet held

Dimapur, Mar. 5 (EMN): The annual sports meet of Christ King Higher Secondary School, Kohima which commenced on Mar. 1 came to a close on Mar. 3.
Colonel Debaraj Bhattacharya, Commandant, 3 Assam Rifles (Naga Hills), Kohima, who was the chief guest on the inaugural function exhorted the students to be brave to embrace new challenges. He said “if you want something you have never had, you must be willing to do something you have never done.” The day commenced with the unfurling of the school flag by the chief guest.
Thereafter the chief guest inspected the contingents. Rev. Fr.Dr. Salew Peter SDB, the Parish Priest of Christ King Parish, Kohima welcomed the chief guest, guests of honour, parents and students to the event.
Rev.Fr.Lonuo Linus SDB, the Principal proposed the vote of thanks and encouraged the students to give their best in all the disciplines conducted in the annual sports week.
The sports meet concluded on Mar. 3 with Dr. Neiphi Kire, Chairman of Kohima Village Council as the chief guest.
The chief guest in his speech congratulated the school for the new developments and for organising the sports in a magnificent way and encouraged the students to “be enthusiastic in life and to take part in various disciplines with the aim of gaining better physical, mental and social well being.” The sports meet had a happy ending with blue house coming on top as the champions and green, red and yellow houses in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions. The principal handed over the prizes to all the teams and congratulated them on their success and for their commendable team-work.
