Civic action progs conducted across state

Dimapur, Feb 23: In its continuous efforts to reach out to the needy and deprived sections of the society, Assam Rifles conducted various civic action programmes across the district.

A medical camp was conducted at Yachang village, Mokokchung district on february 21, by 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North). Assistant Commandant, Jubin Henry John, medical officer and paramedical staff of 44 Assam Rifles treated 224 patients and distributed free medicines. The villagers conveyed gratitude towards the unit for their efforts in looking after the medical needs of the local populace for providing treatment to the poor and needy at their door steps.
In an another programme, 32 Assam Rifles under aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) organised a medical camp at Hotovi village, Dimapur, on February 22. Assam Rifles doctors and the team of medical staff attended to 613 patients and gave free consultation and medicines to ailing people.

In addition the team also sensitised the citizens on preventive care, health hygiene and important aspects of first aid.

5 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted a veterinary camp at DC Ground, Zunheboto on February 21. The camp was conducted by a medical team of 14 Mobile Veterinary Hospital comprising of three nursing assistance veterinary from Rangapahar, one supervisor and one field assistance from Zunheboto Veterinary Department. The aim of the camp was to provide medical assistance and treatment to livestock of the needy people of this remote locality. Altogether 1068 livestock were examined and free medicines were given to the owners.

28 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) carried out an interaction with the GBs and Chairman of Bhandari village under Wokha district on February 23.

Major Varun Sharma interacted with 40 GBs and village chairman and discussed on issues pertaining to development, peace, education and skill development.
