Dimapur, August 4 (EMN): The Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) Dimapur, popularly known as Referral hospital, on Friday introduced 4 machines used for treatment of Haemodialysis – a kidney related ailment.
The hospital has now 7 such machines in total, according to a press release received here on Friday. According to the hospital authorities, this would allow the hospital to provide the facility at a highly subsidised rate.
“This will reduce the cost of dialysis by more than half the current cost. With the rising trend of diabetes mellitus in the state, the consequent kidney failure rate is also expected to increase. Haemodialysis is a very expensive treatment for kidney patients and therefore this particular new subsidized facility will be a great relief to the many patients who require this facility”, the statement informed.
The machines introduced on Friday were donated by the Tanker Foundation of Thomas Cook (India), it informed. Now the hospital would also be able to cater to biohazard patients with the extra equipment, the statement informed.
The hospital also unveiled an Electroencephalography (EEG) machine on the same day. “This machine is used to detect patients with epilepsy and also help in the monitoring of patients on treatment. Several patients were earlier referred to Guwahati for this investigation. It helps clinicians to more rationally treat patients with epilepsy”, it informed.
The CIHSR also recently launched its new website www.cihsr.in.
