DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 6

An attempt to gather all the ordained ministers, otherwise addressed as Reverends, in the state of Nagaland with the expressed purpose to “help develop the land and assist the society through prayer and fellowship” has been set in motion.
The attempt, if productive, would witness the coming together of “all ordained ministers” of different denominations under one platform, with one expressed purpose, for the first time in the state. This ambitious bid has been initiated by Rev. Luoliehu Yimsung, a missionary to Australia, Rev. Dr. Zelhuo Keyho, the general secretary of Nagaland Baptist Church Council, Rev. N Paphino, the president of Nagaland Christian Revival Church and Rev. Moses Murry, the general superintendent of Assembly of God of East India.
In a press conference here today, Rev Yimsung said that they were planning to arrange the event, “Nagaland Ordained Ministers Connect,” in the month of November in Dimapur. The event is a direct response to the social ills that currently plague Nagaland. According to Rev. Paphino, Nagas must first break the denominational and tribal barriers that obstruct their growth as a people. To Rev. Moses, the event represents a “ray of hope” to the Naga people, which he added, has been long time coming.
