Dimapur, Feb. 19 (EMN): The president of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu on Mon. said that the NPF will on its own form the next government. He was addressing an election rally of the party’s Zunheboto division.
According to a press release from the party, Liezietsu told the voters to choose between “preserving our identity and money.” He said that the people should not allow the power of money and ‘false promises’ to overpower faith and identity. He said that during the elections ‘money will attack the Naga voters’ even as the Nagaland Baptist Church Council is promoting clean election.
“In Nagaland the churches have seen the dangers posed by fringe elements to the Naga society and are taking remedial measures to counter these dangers,” he was quoted as having said.
Further, Liezietsu said that the NPF belonged to every Naga, and asked them to choose the party instead of ‘someone else’s party.’ The NPF’s jurisdiction is confined only to the Naga areas, he said.
NPF candidates from Zunheboto division Picto, Khekaho, Hukiye, Hukavi and Zheito also spoke during the occasion and expressed hope that the NPF would secure victory in the district, it informed.
